Wear it to work: Graphic Tees

Part of having smart style is taking your casual wardrobe into your work attire.  One of the easiest ways to do this is to learn how to pair casual tops, such as graphic tees, with office-appropriate pieces.  The best advice I can give on this topic is to pick prints that are more of an art design and try to stay away from cutesy sayings and cartoon characters.  Here are a couple of tees I found online.  Any of these would look great with a pair of black trousers and a blazer or cute cardigan.  The key is to keep the rest of the outfit simple to tone down the print on the shirt.

The tees:

1. Zebra-print tee, Alloy $22.90

2. Rose drop tee, Express $29.50 (or two for $39.50)

3. Sublimination tee, Target $12.00

All of these fit into the rules of being true graphic.  Check out the stores I pulled these from to find more that fit into that category.

The basics in your closet to pair them with:

1.  A great blazer or structured jacket, like this cotton one from Old Navy for $39.50.

2. A cardigan, like this lightweight short sleeved one from Old Navy, on sale right now for $10.

3. Black dress pants, like the Editor Pant I talked about in this post.

Wear it on weekends:

Day: With boyfriend jeans and comfy shoes

or

Night: with dark skinny jeans, heels, and some glam jewelry.
